continuing to grow...
well... it's been a long time since we last wrote... there are now faint signs that mama and papa seo are starting to get it together. it is a bit amazing how much you energy is required to host and keep alive another human life form. anyway, i'm betting that you want to hear a bit about the little seo. in this picture, little seo is sporting a freshly acquired bear helmet. mama seo was "loaded for bear" and took out a mean grizzly and tore its head off cleanly and made this hat for little seo. bears must be intelligent animals as you can see how as soon as little seo put on the hat... her curiosity and observant nature was amplified significantly.

Namesake
pictures to come later. Mommy is using her spare moments while keeping babies alive at Arlington to update this neglected post.
Lydia is growing so fast! So much has happened within the last month! Everyday is filled with mind-boggling-i-can’t-believe-i-am-a-parent-and-she-came-out-of-my-body-so-crazy-amazing Lydia moments!
1. new tricks in the book:
a. making bubbles. Which progressed to
b. drooling like mad. Think she’s started to teeth.
c. rolling over from back to tummy
Think she’s started to teeth.
c. rolling over from back to tummy
e. grabbing, licking, sucking and biting any and everything in arm’s length
f. rolling back to tummy
g. temper tantrums. She’s now really good at throwing fits when something doesn’t go her way. Nothing more effective than kicking and screaming for attention and affection. Most of the time, she’s a pretty chill baby. But when no one is looking, this is what happens: (inset video here)
h. baby talk. (video?)
i. laughing and squealing. What a delight!
j. pooping position.
2. new playtime toys:
a. pooh bear walker(*!*) ashamed to admit we have one, but she LOVES it!
b. exersaucer (insert video here)
c. praise baby DVD (we were very disappointed to find that lydia is not much of a praise baby fan. she got really scared watching this DVD. we may just stick with the baby einsteins)
d. jungle gym which she finally learned to love
e. sitting baby chair
f. backyard swimming pool. Think if she can sit, she…and mommy…will have more fun and less stress.
g. swing time!
i. mirror mirror.
j. beginners bible. Very easily distracted and disinterested. not much of a book baby.
k. clocks. she was fascinated with clocks for a while.
3. how fast does she grow!
our inflatable baby is staying strong at 95th percentile all around, except her 75%tile head. She made her mama proud at her last 4month doctor’s visit.
we left her in the pooh bear walker, and at first her feet didnt reach the floor. by the end of the day, she was rolling herself around the tips of her tippy toe. She is literally growing by the MINUTE before our very own eyes!
We don’t really realize how big she is until there’s a frame of reference. Case in point: (insert picture here) when Giant Lydia stomped over to stuff her face with Cadyn. We must remember to teach her to be gentle and play nice with other babies. Must reminder her not to eat other children.
Other signs of rapid and massive growth:
She now wears size 2 – 3 pampers and 6 – 9 month clothes very comfortably. There are boxes of clothes she no longer can wear without her head turning blue and limbs falling off. We nearly Strangulated lyddie when we squeezed her into the cutest swimsuit ever. (picture / video here) we almost needed a scissor to extricate her from the tightest thang there ever was.
Inhumanly tight spandex makes for a very unhappy baby, but she’s learning a valuable lesson on the cost of beauty women must pay.
She is just so super strong and healthy. Literally, a *picture of health*. I love hugging her soft and full belly, and daddy loves kissing her chubby cheeks. I could totally eat her. She’s so FAT! I LOVE it!
she has outgrown her bottles and nipples. Her 6 oz appetite will no longer permit the use of the cute 5oz bottles. And so voracious is her appetite that she will wiggle her body in frustration if you try to feed her with the level 1 slow flow nipple.
Pretty soon, she will not be able to do this.
4. memorable / remarkable dates:
June 14. Lydia meets pool. A pool party at wendy’s pool where Lydia showed off her swimsuit sexiness (see pictured above) and got dipped into the pool.
June 15. happy father’s day!
June 21. yoosh’s uncle visiting from korea
June 24. mommy’s last day of internship! Woohoooo!
June 27 – 28. moving sale at our Bethesda house
June 29. when we visited the park twins. Christian soldier and grahm cracker. They are going to have so much FUN growing up together!
July 3. day daddy almost got arrested and Lydia almost got abducted or asphyxiated in the car at tyson’s corner.
July 4. day she started really laughing and squealing. (What a cutie!) (insert picture/ video) also the day we all became silly peekaboo players to try to hear her giggle.
her korean name (heejung) includes the character *hee* which means glee/laughter/joy and what a little bundle of joy she is!!

our first post

3 months ago our lydia came into the world screaming
she has been growing and growing and growing and growing
it's amazing to see how fast she's becoming a little person
we have been shooting 1 picture a minute in effort to capture every moment
and we'll attempt to get ourselves organized enough to log them all here
